Arlington Boys’ Water Polo wins tough road game, 9-3 over Xavier Prep, on Wednesday, 9/27. Arlington boys water polo team got back to its winning ways, defeating Xavier Prep, 9-3, Wednesday. The Lions had a tough first half, falling behind 2-1 in the first quarter. But Arlington was able to tie the score by the end of the first half, 3-3. Arlington’s offense came out strong to start the second half, taking a 5-3 lead and never looked back. Defense was the Lions strength throughout the game, thanks in part to senior David Carazo, who led the defense with five steals and added a field block, and senior Phillip Esquivel, who led the Lions in blocking with two. The Arlington offense was led by senior Jacob Olsen, who had four goals and sophomore Matt Olsen drew five ejections. Sophomore Tommy Demspey dished out four assists and had two steals.
Arlington improves to 12&1 on the season and plays in the prestigious Villa Park Tournament on Thursday, 9/28 at El Dorado H.S. in Placentia at 6 p.m. against Menlo Atherton from Northern California.
