Artie Carranza Represents Arlington at the State Finals for Wrestling

The wrestling team finished off a great season in the Masters Tournament this past weekend.   Artie Carranza placed 9th at Masters and will advance to the state tournament next week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Bakersfield.   Deshawn Mercadel finished in the top 12.   Arlington, as a team finished 53rd out of 154 schools competing at Masters. Wrestlers prepare for the CIF individual round

Congrats to our wrestling team who will be sending 7 wrestlers into the CIF Southern Section Championship. The 2020 Ivy League Wrestling Championships were held at Canyon Springs on Feb. 8th and resulted in 7 top 5 finishers qualifying for the CIF Southern Section Championship; 1st place – Artie Carranza – 106lbs 2nd place –

Wrestling travels to lakeside for last regular season match

Thursday night January 23rd  the wrestling team traveled to Lakeside to compete in their last league match.  The Lions had to give up 18 points (3 matches) as forfeits due to not having a competitor in that specific weight class. Wrestling team competes in Moreno Valley Tourney

The Wrestling team competed Saturday in a one day tournament in Moreno Valley.  Arlington had 5 wrestlers compete in the 12 team tournament – Isaac Valencia was announced champion at 132 lbs, he pinned all his opponents within 30 sec, including the final round as he avenged his loss to Rancho Verde wrestler by pinning

Final home match vs. Rancho Verde. Devin Johnson and Jon Johnson both had a pins, automatic 6 points and a W for the Lions. The pins were not enough to secure a team win. The Lions fell to Rancho Verde 30 – 46.

Wrestling team competes in “The Battle of the Belts” at Temecula Valley

The wrestling team competed in the Temecula Valley “Battle for the Belt” Wrestling Tournament this past weekend.  This tournament featured most of the top ranked wrestlers in California and neighboring states.  There were 66 teams competing.  Artie Carranza is ranked 22 in the state at 106 lbs just missed placing in the top 8.  He finished

Riverside County Wrestling Tournament – Arlington places 7th with 4 top 8 individuals

On January 3rd and 4th Arlington hosted one of the largest Wrestling Tournaments known to Riverside, The Riverside County Wrestling Championships.  Teams come from all over the Inland Empire to compete in this annual tournament.  Arlington had 4 individual wrestlers place in the top 8.  Deshawn Mercadel walked away as the Champion for his weight class
