We’d like to blame a glitch in the Matrix, but the truth is we were late to the party in celebrating Aubrey Harper (Dance) and Nehemiah Perez (Swim) for Athlete of the Week! They are a total rockstars 💃🏊♂️Better late than never, and definitely worth the wait check out what they accomplished.
Senior Aubrey Harper delivered a masterclass performance at the West Coast Elite Dance Nationals in Long Beach! Competing in a massive field of 100 elite senior soloists, Aubrey rose to the occasion to secure a phenomenal 7th place overall finish. Beyond her individual success, Aubrey continues to be the heartbeat of the Lions’ team routines. Her technical precision and unwavering consistency have made her a vital piece of the puzzle in this year’s choreography
Senior Nehemiah Perez earned athlete of the week! His powerhouse performance was highlighted by securing two individual CIF Qualifying times in the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly. He didn’t stop there; his leadership and speed were instrumental in driving both the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays to their own CIF Qualifying marks. Coach Watson Joins the Wall of Distinction⚽️
The Riverside Sports Hall of Fame has officially grown more elite with the induction of Arlington’s Coach Watson onto its prestigious Wall of Distinction. The true measure of Watson’s impact lies in his fearless approach to competition. Since the induction of the elite Open Division three years ago, Watson has led Arlington to qualify for that top-tier bracket in two out of those three years. This feat places his squad among the best of the best, proving that his program thrives when the lights are brightest and the stakes are highest. Coach Watson’s placement on the Wall of Distinction is more than a personal accolade; it is a testament to the powerhouse culture he has built at Arlington, a legacy that will inspire Riverside athletes for generations to come.
